THE Guyanese pair of Rayad and Farzana Hussain went down to Canada and Korea at the 2018 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Östersund, Sweden.
After narrowly losing to Germany (6-8) in the opening game at the event, Guyana were hoping to bounce back in the second game against Korea, but fell 11-0 on Sunday. Yesterday, the pair clashed with Canada, but despite a spirited performance, lost 3-9.
Guyana will play Ireland today and they will be aiming for an improved performance.
This is Guyana’s debut at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and also the country’s first international tournament since forming the Guyana Curling Federation (GCF) last year.
