A 23- year old Mahaica mother was fatally stabbed by the children of her father on Thursday morning.

Dead is Darmattie Persaud also known as “Kalvena”, a mother of two . The woman  was stabbed several times about the body by her common-law husband whose name was given as “Bishwanie.”

Reports are that the couple have been experiencing domestic issues in recent weeks and the woman moved out of the family’s home. On Thursday morning , the man called the woman and asked her to take a taxi to the family’s home.

He then dragged her out of the car and inflicted the stab wounds about the woman’s body. He subsequently ingested a poisonous substance and was taken to the hospital where he remains under guard. Police are investigating the incident. (Leroy Smith)
