PRESIDENT of the Essequibo Chamber of Commerce (ECC), Deleep Singh, is urging persons to come out in their numbers to witness the biggest Agro Trade Fair and Expo slated for April 20 and 21 at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground.

Singh, speaking on the progress of the fair, said the chamber has been receiving positive feedbacks from the business community, noting that this year is expected to be bigger and better compared to previous years.

He said all arrangements are in place for the hosting of the two-night activity that will highlight the region’s potential to the rest of Guyana. Already, 80 businesses have indicated their interest to be a part of the event.

On display will be leading agro-processing and manufacturing companies, which will use the opportunity to display products and services, as well as to boost their advertising capacity.

The expo also caters for crops and livestock farmers.

According to Singh, this year’s fair promises to be better in terms of tourism, since many persons will be entering the region from throughout Guyana and called on the hospitality sector to make adequate arrangements to accommodate them.

“I honestly expect the economic spin-off to be significant… this trade show is one with a difference. The region will be getting more visitors and as such, everyone, be it a food vendor or a farmer, will benefit,” Singh said.

The fair will also feature a segment where prizes will be awarded for the best crops and livestock booths.

“I urge persons to come out, come see what Region Two has to offer. We will have top security… join the ECC as we help to showcase the region,” Singh said.
