National Under-19 female cricketers depart for Trinidad and Tobago

AS the National cricket teams make their way across the Caribbean to represent Guyana, the female Under-19 team departed for Trinidad and Tobago for the Invitational Regional tournament.

The reigning champions, who defeated Trinidad and Tobago in the final round of the 2017 tournament, boast a number of players with experience at this level.

The team will be managed by Heema Singh and coached by Cricket West Indies Level 3 coach Bharat Mangru.

The team is as follows: Shabika Gajnabi (captain), Mandy Mangru (vice-captain), Shenita Grimmond, Kushana Lynch, Omedevi Matadin, Lafona Gilgeows, Yogeeta Ballkishun, Casey Charles, Cherryanna Fraiser, Ashley Ramkisoon, Chrita Mahabir, Roshine Budhu, Sarah Amin and Varshmie Ramlall.

The GCB wishes the team all the best in the prestigious tournament and anticipates the team retaining their championship title.
