A 37-year-old labourer from Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast was on Wednesday, March 1, sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for stealing curtains. Vijai Dass made his first appearance before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court where he admitted that he went into his aunt’s home and stole a quantity of curtains.
It is alleged that on February 27, he broke into the house of Miss Dass and stole curtains to the value of $8,000. He was charged for break and enter and larceny. After his guilty plea, he was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
