Former CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb is expected to have his sentence pushed back for a seventh time after submissions in court were accepted earlier this week.
Webb pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud in relation to his role in the FIFA corruption probe, which saw 14 officials of world football’s governing body indicted by US courts in 2015.

The former Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) accepted the charges in November of 2015 and also agreed to forfeit more than US$6.7m as part of his plea. Webb, who has been under house arrest in the United States since then, was originally to be sentenced in June of 2016.

After numerous delays the latest date given to the former football boss was March 7 but if the court of the Eastern District of New York agrees with the latest submissions, Webb would not face sentencing until September.

According to court documents Webb and dozens of other FIFA officials solicited bribes from sports marketing companies in exchange for directing lucrative broadcasting and commercial rights deals for various football tournaments to the bribe-payers.

The bribes are alleged to have been paid by the sports marketing company Traffic USA, in return for being awarded TV and marketing rights for the Caribbean countries’ qualifying matches in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.(Sportsmax).
