Etwaroo Dass, 44, a security guard attached to the New Opportunity Corps, Onderneeming, Region Two, is battling for his life at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after he was bitten by a labaria snake on Tuesday evening.
The incident reportedly occurred around 15:30 hours at the Riverstown backdam.
According to relatives, Dass was cutting grass for his cow when the snake bit him on his left leg, causing him to collapse in shock and pain.
His grandson who was with him immediately ran home and alerted relatives who rushed him to the Suddie Public Hospital.
He was subsequently transferred to the GPHC after doctors at the Suddie Hospital told relatives that they did not have the treatment to administer to him.
Dass’ family is praying that he makes a full recovery.
