SHIMIKA Williams, the mother of missing schoolgirl Danika King said on Wednesday she has received several phone calls stating that her 14-year-old daughter was seen on two occasions in Sophia in company of a man.
Williams told Guyana Chronicle that on the first occasion, a caller told her that Danika was seen leaving an East Coast Demerara location and went to Sophia in company of a man, who seems to be transporting her.
This teen was reportedly in the same flowered dress she left home in last Friday night, the mother said.
On the second occasion, she was told that her daughter was seen sitting on a culvert in ‘C’ Field, Sophia with the same man, this time dressed in jeans and a top.
Williams said that by the time she contacted the police and went to the location, there was no sign of her daughter or the man in question.
Danika had left home for Naraine’s Bakery on Sheriff Street to buy snacks even though she had no reason to do so since food and snacks were in the house.
After more than an hour had passed and she did not return home, a search was launched for her but to no avail.
Williams added that Danika did not take her school uniform but she packed some clothes and sneakers and left home with same undetected.
The Tutorial High School student has never left home before for long and her mother believes she was being encouraged to do so.
