LITTLE Kissan Henry of New Amsterdam who saved herself and brother from a fire at their home earlier this week, was recognised at a simple presentation held at the office of Crime Chief Paul Williams on Saturday.

According to the police, seven-year-old Kissan was presented with several items, including a plaque and several books on behalf of the Commissioner, Crime Chief and other members of the Force.

The Force recognised her bravery and brilliant thinking from a humanitarian standpoint at such a tender age.

The reward was made possible through support from the Mark Benschop Foundation and other key stakeholders.

The child’s mother went into hiding after the family’s Lot 740 Glasgow, New Housing Scheme, house caught fire last Monday night. The authorities discovered that two under-aged children were left unsupervised on the said evening. The mother has since been placed before the courts.
