A 31-YEAR-OLD Onderneeming, West Bank Demerara resident was on Tuesday remanded to prison on a simple larceny charge by Magistrate Annett Singh.
Devon Holder is charged with stealing a chain valued $530,000 from Rafeek Mohammed on January 9, 2018 at Stabroek Market, Georgetown.
According to reports the accused was caught on CCTV camera stealing the chain and when confronted, he confessed and even agreed to take the police to the place where he hid the item.
However, Holder took the police on a wild goose chase looking for the item and came up empty-handed.
Magistrate Singh remanded Holder until January 30.
