THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF), through the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC), has expressed condolences to the wife, children and friends of the late Phillip Gibbons.

Gibbons was a former National Referee and Assessor.
He was also actively involved in the administration of the Mackenzie Sports Complex (MSC) until he passed away a few days ago.

In a brief statement, president of the GFRC and executive committee member of the GFF, Dion Inniss, said the fraternity is saddened by the loss of the former match official.

“All referees mourn the loss of a very hardworking, passionate and committed servant of the game. This is especially felt in the mining town of Linden where he resided up to the time of his passing. We hope that in some way our words of support may help bring a little bit of peace and solace in this time of sadness.”
