THE Preliminary Inquiry into the murder of Regent Multiplex Mall owner Ganesh Ramlall, called ‘Boyo’ came to an end before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Leonora Magistrates Court with the committal of three men.

Lennox ‘Soldier Man’ Roberts, Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara; Fazeel ‘Javed’ Bacchus, Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara and Kurt ‘Banana’ Erskine, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara are jointly charged with the capital offence.
Particulars of the charge alleged that the trio on July 5, 2015 murdered Ramlall during the course of a robbery at his home at La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara.
On the night of the murder, Ramlall was returning to his home from the washroom in his yard when the men attacked him. They then escaped with his licensed firearm, jewellery and wallet.
It was reported that upon seeing the gunmen, he had raised an alarm and called out to his relatives to secure the house as he began to shout, “Bandit! Bandit!”
After the bandits escaped Ramlall was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
