Ramdhani completes young talents camp in Suriname

GUYANA & Caribbean Ladies Badminton Champion Priyanna Ramdhani concluded the Pan American Badminton Federation Young Talents Camp 2017.
The camp was held November 9-15, in Paramaribo Suriname after which she participated in the Suriname Open International Championships at the Ismay Van Wilgen Sporthal.

The camp was conducted twice daily under the direction of the Pan American coach Mr Martijn van Dooremlen to improve the player’s technical & tactical approach.

Priyanna was selected by the Pan-Am Development Director due her consistent performances on the international circuit.
Priyanna then participated in the Suriname Open Seniors International Championships as part of the Young Talents Camp as all participants had to play in this tournament.
This was to ensure that the players got world ranking points and to measure their training methods for future developments.

On Thursday 16th in the Ladies’ Singles Priyanna had to play the No.1 seeded player in the tournament, Fernanda Saponara Rivva of Peru. She lost 21-14, 21-8 in Round 2.
In the Ladies’ Doubles she teamed up with Chequeda De Boulet of Trinidad to defeat Faith Sariman & Chaista Somemodipoero of Suriname in Round 2: 21-11, 21-13 to reach the Quarter-Finals.

In the Mixed doubles yesterday she teamed up with Danney Chen of Suriname and lost in an exciting three-setter to Jonathan Thorpe & Tamisha Williams of Barbados in Round 2: 23-21, 9-21, 12-21.
In the Ladies’ Doubles Quarter-Finals with Chequeda De Baulet of Trinidad they lost to Shemara Lindveld & Santusha Ramzan of Suriname: 21-15, 21-11.
