TWO Dominican Republic women who told the court that they worked at the “Rio Night Club’ on Wednesday appeared before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with overstaying in Guyana.

Arelis Encarnacion, 37 and Rosanna Luciano, 22, were arrested on November 12, 2017, during a raid conducted at the Rio Night Club.
It is alleged that Encarnacion, between April 27, 2017 and November 12, 2017, at Georgetown, failed to comply to conditions under which she was allowed to stay in Guyana from March 22 to April 26.

The charge against Luciano alleged that she overstayed in Guyana from April 8, 2017 to November 7, 2017 at Georgetown after being permitted to stay from March 8 to April 7.
Both women pleaded guilty to the charge and were each fined $30,000 or 3 months imprisonment

According to reports, these matters came to light after the women presented their documents and checks were made with the Guyana immigration authorities, subsequent to the Police raid at the city nightclub.
