A 21-YEAR-OLD Buxton resident was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for armed robbery.

Shaquille Wilburg, of Public Road Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD), pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on October 13 at Buxton Public Road, while being in the company of others and armed with guns, robbed Linden Wilson of $3M cash along with two cellphones valued $300,000.
Police Prosecutor, Shawn Gonsalves, objected to Wilburg being released on bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the charge and the penalty attached.
The Magistrate ruled in the prosecution favour and remanded Wilburg until November 6.
