THE body of Don Mark William called “Fine man” or “Boy”, 31, was found Monday morning at Blackwater Creek, Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Region Seven.
William of Port Kaituma, Region One was last seen on Friday last.
“We heard that his body was decaying and look like he died Friday night since people saw him during the day. He and some Amerindian boy went out and people see the Amerindian boy Saturday with a cutlass and he said he fell down in some hole, no one saw him since; people didn’t ask about Williams because they thought he was drunk and resting,” one relative told Guyana Chronicle.
The relative said Williams’s body was found in a corner of the creek in a severely decomposed state.
“People stumbled upon the body after the foul scent hit them and the police were contacted; the police called his mother to ask to bury the body because it was not possible to bring it out.”
Relative learnt of the miners passing after a woman who Williams was supposed to work with called his fiancé and told her that he died.
Police said they are seeking a suspect in relation to the miner’s death.
