NIGEL Hinds, president of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF), yesterday made a donation of balls, t-shirts, water bottles and other paraphernalia to the Annual Abdullah Hamid Basketball Summer Camp in Linden.

Hinds journeyed to the mining town and visited the camp where scores of young, aspiring ‘ballers’ are supervised by Hamid, a former national player and coach.
This year marked 29 years since Hamid’s programme is in existence, as he expressed his appreciation to Hinds and the GABF for their timely contribution.
Meanwhile, Hamid said this year the programme will culminate with a skills challenge and an East versus West contest, allowing the players to showcase their talent to their parents.
