Man charged for allegedly stealing from AGMC

A 32-year-old man was on Monday placed on $150,000 bail after he allegedly stole from Aurora Gold Mining Company Inc.
It is alleged that between June 27, 2017 and June 29, 2017 at Buckhall Trail, Essequibo, Vibert Wishart of Thomas Street, Kitty, Georgetown, stole an excavator computer box valued $632,000, property of Aurora Gold Mining Company Inc.
Wishart was represented by Attorney-at-law Hewley Griffith, who stated that his client has no pending matters, no prior offences and is not at flight risk.
Police Prosecutor, Arvin Moore, requested that substantial bail be given to the father of three. He also stated that the police intercepted the man while he was about to sell the item.
Wishart was placed on $150,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and is expected to make his next court appearance in the Bartica Magistrates Court on August 10, 2017.
