Today is closing date for RSTC’s six-race horse race meet

HORSE race owners and trainers have until 16:00hrs to register their animals for participation in the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTC) meet. In collaboration with the Guyana Women’s Police Association, the RSTC will be staging a six-race one-day meet at the club’s facility, West Coast Berbice on Sunday, beginning at 13:00hrs.
The activity was originally planned for June 25 but was postponed to Sunday due to the inclement weather that prevailed around that time of the year.
According to reports, with the improvement of the weather conditions, the track is currently in excellent condition and the organisers are eagerly awaiting the start of the first event.

Six races are on the card and over $3M in cash and trophies are up for grabs.
The feature event will see horses classified `G’ and Lower battle over one mile for the $300 000 first prize. The second-place finisher will receive $150 000, while the third-place animal will earn $75 000.
Other events on the day’s programme will feature `I’ Class and Three-year-old Guyana-bred horses `K’ Class and Lower, `J1’ and Lower animals, `L’ and Lower and `L2’ and unclassified horses.

Among the top animals already registered for the day’s programme are: Settling Star, Appling Harvest, Got to Go, T&T, Cat Messiah, Bird man, Chelsea, Red Jet, Red Regent, Something Special, Bridal Stone Corner, Party Time, Puppy Tail, Richie Poo, Seven Dust, Little Star and Untruly.
