POLICE are investigating a fatal accident that occurred over the weekend which left a 27-year-old labourer dead on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway in the vicinity of Marudi.

Dead is Mukesh Tobin of Yarrowkabra, a predominantly Amerindian community some two hours from Georgetown on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
The police say they were summoned on Monday following the discovery of the body, a cursory examination of which, as well as the scene, revealed that Tobin was a victim of a hit-and-run accident.
The body was positively identified by Tobin’s wife before being taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour to await the customary post-mortem examination.
