NAMILCO Under-17 football kicks off Sunday in Essequibo

THE NATIONAL Milling Company (NAMILCO)-sponsored Under-17 countrywide football competition will kick off in Essequibo on Sunday with various matches.
The competition is being played in collaboration with the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and will have eight teams – Henrietta, Charity, Capoey, Dartmouth, Mainstay, Queenstown, Wakapoa and Good Hope competing for supremacy.
In the scheduled matches billed for the opening, Mainstay will host Henrietta, Capoey and Good Hope will compete at the Anna Regina Community Centre (ARCC) ground, Queenstown at home to Dartmouth while Wakapoa will travel to Charity for their game.
Matches will continue every weekend, with the winners qualifying to compete nationally with the other teams from across the country.
A formal ceremony will be held at the ARCC ground where executive members from the EFA will address the participants and declare the competition open.
