Two bailed on fraud charges

A TRUCK driver accused of fraudulently converting 250 bags of Karibee Rice to his own use was released on $50,000 bail by City Magistrate, Fabayo Azore on Wednesday.
Patrick Clark, 53, of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, denied that while being entrusted by Elton Ward and Rohan Sarjou with 250 bags of Karibee Rice valued $500,000 on November 15, 2016, he fraudulently converted same to his own use and benefit. Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne made no objection to bail and did not release further details to the court. Bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to June 7, 2017.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old minibus conductor was released on $50,000 bail by Magistrate Azore after being charged with fraudulently converting a weeding machine valued at $360,000 to his own use and benefit.
Akeem Booker of ‘C’ Field Sophia Squatting Area, Georgetown, denied that on April 14, 2017 at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, while being solely entrusted by Razel Moore with her $360,000 STIHL weeding machine for safe keeping, he fraudulently converted same to his own use and benefit.
Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne did not object to bail.The matter was adjourned to June 14, 2017 for reports.
