AFTER weeks of preparation, race horse trainers will see the results of their efforts as today is `D’ day for the Guyana Cup Fever horse race meet scheduled for the Port Mourant Turf Club, in Corentyne, Berbice.
The eight-race meet which is being staged by the Port Mourant Turf Club in collaboration with the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables will have as its feature event, a 1900-metre race for horses classified B1 and Lower and has a first prize of $1M and a trophy, compliments of Banks DIH Limited.
Among the starters for this event are Princess She’s Not, CP Got Even, Lady Budapest, Brave Sky, Golden Blue Echo, Just Call Me Boss, Spit Fire, Jack in My Style, Keep on Swinging, Climate Change and Kazi Azaria.
Other events on the card are a 1200-metre race for animals classified E3 and Lower West Indies bred non-winners for 2016/17 and Canadian non-winners over the same period.
There will also be a 1200-metre race for four-year-old West Indies bred and G3 and Lower horses, a 1200-metre event for horses classified H3 and lower, a 1200-metre event for three-year-old Guyana bred and other horses classified `I’ 1 and Lower.
There are also 1200-metre races for horses classified `J2’, `K’ and 1l’ and lower.
Among the other horses appearing on the day’s card are; Release the beast, Unsettled, Goodwill Boy, Light Up Canada, Red and Lovely, Its My Choice, Super Bowl, Cat Messiah, Settling Star, Sweet Return, Isn’t She Charming, Firing Line, Big Man Boss, Amazing Run, Witches Poo, Compadia, Slim Shady, Bini Man, Chelsea, Puppy Tail, Party Time and Merry Ann,among others.
