GOPAUL Sewsankar, known as “Romel,” 23, appeared before Magistrate Charlyn Artiga at the Whim Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with the murder of his younger brother.

Sewsankar, of Lot 82 Yakusari, North, Black Bush Polder, was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on March 20, 2017, he fatally stabbed 18-year-old Vishal Sahora.
He was unrepresented and was remanded to prison until May 16, 2017, when the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) is slated to start. According to reports, on the day in question, the two brothers and several friends were imbibing when Romel approached Sahora and asked to borrow his motorcycle. The younger brother refused and an argument and a fight ensued, during which the teenager was stabbed to the chest.
Sahora had been employed as an electrician at a Rice Mill located at Branch Road, Yakusari.
