Food For the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated (FFTP), on Sunday said it has not authorised anyone to collect funds on its behalf for housing purposes.The non-government organisation in a release said it has received reports that persons have been fraudulently collecting monies from unsuspecting persons and promising them houses on behalf of the organisation.

“The general public is therefore notified that no one is authorised to collect funds on behalf of FFTP for housing purposes. The public is advised that houses provided by FFTP are free of cost for those extremely poor families who meet the required criteria,” the FFTP said.

Members of the public are asked to contact FFTP on the following telephone numbers; 218-1553, 218-1544, 218-5087, 218-4963 and 218-4965 or the nearest police station if approached by anyone soliciting funds for housing purposes on behalf of FFTP.
