A 23-year-old man of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, is in police custody following the discovery of compressed marijuana in a vessel, which was moored at Port Kaituma, North West District.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the public transportation vessel has been on the police radar for quite some time now. The discovery was made on Saturday morning and the young man works on the vessel.
Police said that they found 1.4kg of compressed cannabis in a cabin of the vessel at about 13:30hrs in three taped parcels. The suspect is expected to be charged soon.
