EON Griffith, 40, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with simple larceny.
The businessman of La Penitence, Georgetown, is accused of stealing a quantity of airplane spare parts and accessories, hardware and tools from Trisha Persaud valued $16.6M on July 2, 2016 at Kitty Railway, Georgetown.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and pleaded with the Chief Magistrate to grant him bail. Police Prosecutor, Inspector Neville Jeffers made no objection to Griffith being released on bail but requested that reporting conditions be attached.
The Chief Magistrate released the businessman on $20,000 bail and ordered him to return to court on February 14, 2017. He also has to report to the East La Penitence police station every Friday.
