A D’Urban Street, Lodge, Georgetown, resident is in custody after police found unlawful ammunition on his person.

Police observed the man acting in a suspicious manner at the corner of Victor and Norton Streets on Thursday and approached him.

The 20-year-old unemployed suspect on seeing the police dropped his cycle and attempted to escape, but was promptly detained.

A search on his person revealed five live rounds of ammunition, wrapped in a face rag. He will soon make a court appearance.
