WITH the aid of a ‘step’ made of newspapers, Clive Bobb made his way into the bond of the Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL) at Lama Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown with intention to vandalise the building. He was, however, caught red-handed and handed over to the police.

At about 18:15 hours on Monday, an employee who was outside of the GNNL main building saw a man emerge from the abandoned bond next door with a quantity of wood in his hand. The man dropped his booty and attempted to run away when he saw the employee, but was caught, and had his identity established as 41-year old Clive Bobb, a resident of Tiger Bay in Georgetown.

A woman was allegedly only recently sexually assaulted by Bobb in the area of the GNNL bond. He had attempted to drag her into the bond, but the woman managed to get away.

The GNNL bond had, in 2014, been damaged by fire, but firefighters were able to save the building and prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.
