RESIDENTS of the riverine village of Moraikobai, especially the children, were in their element recently, thanks to the timely intervention of city businessman and chartered accountant, Mr Chateram Ramdial.
Ramdial told the Guyana Chronicle that having learnt that the village, which is located in Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice) was in dire need of help, he assembled a team and together they purchased some stuff, like toys, household items and so forth.
And the reaction they got from the residents, Ramdial said, was encouraging, since they not only took the visitors on a tour of the village, but they also made them feel welcome in many other ways.
As such, Ramdial is now urging other organisations and businesspersons to do like he did and donate to the village, because they are in need of a lot of amenities.
Persons, he said, should also seek to invest in the village, as the land there is ideal for farming and other agricultural pursuits.
