Personal bests, medal performances for Guyanese swimmers in T&T

GUYANA’s good performance ,courtesy of the Dorado Speed Swim Club,at the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) continued as the weekend’s session came to an end. It was more personal best times being set, however,this time happening in the 50M Breaststroke and 200M Backstroke on Saturday evening. In the 50M Breaststroke, Monique Watson bested her entry time of 50.07 with a time of 49.79. Alex Winter as well as Daniel Scott both topped their entry times,finishing with 35.33 and 35.09. Also setting a personal best in the breaststroke event was Safiya Foster who finished with 51.32 after an entry time of 52.23.
In the Girls 11-12 200m Backstroke, Lian Winter set another personal best with a time of 2:57.09 over an entry time of 2:58.71. Teammate Soroya Simmons added another medal to her haul. This time she finished second in the 15yrs and over 200M LC Backstroke with a time of 2:40.74.
On Sunday morning in the 200M Individual Medley,Elliot Gonsalves and Lian Winter both set personal best times of 3:18.57 and 2:59:22 after entry times of 3:26.99 and 3:00.01 respectively.
In the 400M Freestyle, Daniel Scott finished with a personal best of 4:44.60 over an entry time of 4:51.04 en route to a bronze medal. Once again Soroya Simmons finished in the top three, this time securing gold in a personal best shattering time of 5:06.16 over her entry time of 5:11.96.
The event was due to finish last evening but up to press time was still underway in Trinidad and Tobago.
