The bullet riddled body of 31-year-old Paul Rodney of West Ruimveldt was found early Monday morning in Avocado Street, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown following an alleged confrontation with unidentified individuals.
Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle, a relative of Rodney disclosed that ranks of the Guyana Police Force alerted the family that Rodney was found dead. This newspaper understands that the incident occurred at approximately 02:55h.
According to the relative, who prefers to remain anonymous, Rodney who takes care of his ill father, left on Sunday evening for a party in the compound of the East Ruimveldt Secondary School but never returned home.

Relatives were informed that he was involved in an alleged altercation with some unidentified individuals, who attacked and shot him several times about the body.
The relative describe the scenario as being rather strange given that Rodney was not the type who would party frequently, since he spends most of his time taking care of his sickly father.
Meanwhile, during a visit to Avocado Street, East Ruimveldt where the incident took place, residents disclosed that after hearing several gunshots, they rushed out and met Rodney covered in blood, pleading for help.
Subsequently, the police were alerted and the man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. No one has been arrested thus far and police investigations are ongoing.
