AN excellent all-round performance from Antonio February guided Skeldon to the final of the TWINS (Bayo) Beer Garden/Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Under-19 cricket competition for teams in the Upper Corentyne area.
February first took 4-19 then stroked an unbeaten 52 not out, as Skeldon defeated No. 64 Fighting Marines by four wickets. Afseer Hussain, who took 5-30, also contributed to the victory.
Skeldon will now play hosts No. 72 Cut and Load in Sunday’s final.
Bating first, No. 64 Fighting Marines were bowled out for 102 in 26.5 overs, with Vadanand Sugrim 24, Thakurdeo Persaud 20, and Lakram Chunilall 18, being the top scorers.
In reply, Skeldon reached 104-6 off 20 overs, with February 52 not out, Ezekiel Gordon 19 not out and Mahendra Chaitnarine 15, being the top scorers.
Bowling for No. 64 Fighting Marines, Vadanand Sugrim took 3-21 and Stephon Newland 3-39.
