A WALES Sugar Estate operator lost his life after crashing into a utility pole on the Belle Vue Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD) in the wee hours of Sunday morning.Dead is Dominic Fabian King, 27 yrs., of 33 Vive-La-Force, W.B.D. Police investigations have revealed that the deceased was riding his motor cycle CH 1556 in a southern direction when he lost control and collided with a utility pole at 03:30hrs on Sunday morning. Many drivers had seen the accident and passed the body straight.
However, eventually he was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by public-spirited citizens where a doctor pronounced him dead on arrival. According to reports, King was riding his motorcycle without his helmet and was under the influence of alcohol. According to the man’s aunt, Joan Vansluytman, her nephew had visited a wake-house in Sister’s Village, WBD, after a colleague at his workplace met his demise several days ago. While returning home he was involved in the accident that claimed his life. Although members of the community had varying opinions of King, he was described by his aunt as a member of the Catholic Church who was friendly and cheerful.
