No vending Sunday as M&CC plans massive clean-up

THE Mayor and Councillors of the City (M&CC) of Georgetown would be conducting a massive clean-up exercise on Sunday, June 25 2016 commencing at 07:00hrs, in the central business district, according to Public Relations Officer (ag) Debra Lewis. She noted that all vendors operating within the precincts of the city are expected to participate in this activity, therefore, no vending would be allowed on Regent, Water, Commerce and Robb Streets.

“Vendors are reminded that this exercise forms part of the agreement made with council that vendors would cooperate with council to maintain the aesthetics of the environment; this includes cleaning the areas where they operate on the last Sunday of every month,” she noted.

Further, Ms Lewis said those participating in the exercise are encouraged to bring whatever tools they have to help in the exercise. The council has already begun mobilizing its resources to make the activity a success.
