THIRTEEN persons were injured Thursday morning after a minibus and car collided in the vicinity of La Union, West Coast Demerara.Police reports disclosed that the accident occurred at 5:50hrs as minibus BPP 700 was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway and motorcar HC 407 was heading north along the western carriageway.
The front left side wheel of the car is said to have developed a mechanical problem that caused the driver to lose control and encounter a head-on collision.
It was further disclosed that all three persons in the car were injured and the driver was listed as critical after being taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Ten persons were also injured in the minibus, but an elderly man jumped out of the front passenger seat window with minimal injuries.
