Invitational Primary Schools football set for New Amsterdam

FOUR invited Primary Schools of New Amsterdam will compete in an Invitational football tournament as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Guyana.The 3-day tournament will have trophies and prizes at stake and all four teams will be outfitted, compliments of New Amsterdam Primary and Secondary Schools Sports (NAPS), in collaboration with team AFRICARI and co-workers of Oakland, California.
Former national youth and senior footballer, Roger Alphonso, whose brainchild it was, established NAPS in 2009 and he will be here along with other members of team AFRICARI during the tournament which will be played between June 1 and 3.
The venue for the games is Scotts School ground in New Amsterdam and the school teams are Fort Ordnance, All Saints, St Theresa’s and St Aloysious.
