The body of a man, who has been identified as Steve Mohamed, was found in the Le Repentir Cemetery this morning.

Police confirmed that the discovery was made at approximately 6:00h with suspected gunshot injuries. The body is at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination, as the investigations continue.

This newspaper understands that Mohamed lived at Kaneville, East Bank Demerara. In December 2015, the Guyana Police Force had issued a wanted bulletin for Mohamed, known as “Cheesy” in relation to investigations into the murder of Quacy Thompson which occurred on July 15, 2014, at Mowassi Landing, Konawaruk.
