HEALING The Nation Theocracy Party (HTNTP) independent candidate in the Kitty/Subryanville Constituency2, Alfred Park, is calling on the APNU+AFC administration to immediately begin the reconstruction of the Kitty Post Office. This facility was torn down some time ago because of its dilapidated state.Addressing a community meeting on Friday, March 4 at Earl’s Avenue in Subryanville, Mr. Park stated that the non-functioning post office is causing much frustration and hardship to the residents, especially the pensioners. They have to use the Campbellville Post Office or other post offices in the city.
The constituency candidate also called for the upgrading of the Kitty Health Centre and the Farnum Playing Field in Subryanville, which could be developed into a state-of-the-art sport facility with floodlights and proper accommodation. This will ensure that the youths engage in meaningful activities.
Touching on other plans for residents of his constituency, Mr. Park announced that once elected, he will work to ensure a “laptop in every home,” as well as assisting residents to rehabilitate their homes…especially those of senior citizens.
Other key areas that the aspiring councillor will pay attention to include the re-establishment of public sanitary conveniences, as well as the upgrading and expansion of the municipality’s Maternal & Child Care Centres and Day Care operations. He further stressed that he will support strict monitoring of the city’s Building Code, along with the proper management and maintenance of the six municipal markets.
The municipality of Georgetown is responsible for an area of over 15,325 square miles, with administration of over 100 miles of road, hundreds of bridges, some 300 miles of concrete and earth drains, a number of channels that flow in to the Demerara River…as well as the collection and disposal of over 100 tons daily of waste and garbage. Once elected, Mr. Park assures that he will work to ensure that these facilities and services will be upgraded plus maintained.
