Armed robber to serve 3 years

PROVIDENCE Magistrate Leron Daily on Wednesday sentenced a man to 15 years imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery and admitted to having an illegal firearm and ammunition in his possession.

Trevor Wilson confessed that on February 3 and February 8 at Eccles, East Bank Demerara he robbed Trevor Blackett, Totaram Baburam and another man of a total of $27,000, while he was armed with a handgun.
Wilson on February 8 was caught by police with an illegal .32 revolver in his possession and three live rounds of matching ammunition.
The juice vendor was sentenced to three years jail on each count of armed robbery; another three years sentence on the illegal firearm charge; and three years for possession of the ammunition. However these sentences will run concurrently.
