LENNOX Allen was an undefeated 20-year-old super middleweight when he clashed with Ade Alfons of Indonesia on March 4, 2006. The eight-round bout was staged at the Karang Melenu Sports Hall and the southpaw Allen was adjudged winner by unanimous decision.Allen started his professional career in 2004 and had his first three fights in Guyana. The next two were held in Australia after he accepted an offer from fellow Guyanese Gairy St Clair to compete there. The win over Alfons improved Allen’s record to 6-0.
He secured the vacant World Boxing Council, Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) title in 2011 following a unanimous 12-round decision over Kwesi Jones at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Earlier, he captured the vacant New York State super middleweight title following a seventh-round technical knockout (TKO) over Nick Brinson in November 2010.
The heavy-handed Guyanese has moved up to the light heavyweight division and was set to make a return to the ring last month, but the fight was postponed. The six-foot one-inch Allen is undefeated in 21 fights (13 KOs).
