The committee will begin the competition from April 27th to 30th with a multi-media and glam photoshoot, and on May 1 a fitness and sports competition will be held. Personal interviews will be done on May 4th while May 7th is ‘Empowerment Day’.

The highly anticipated talent competition will be staged on May 14th and on May 18th there will be a ‘Top Model’ competition. The essence of the contest ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ will be presented on May 23rd, while on May 27th there will be the Coronation ceremony at a venue to be announced.

The Miss Guyana World 2016 ‘Majesty crown’ has been described by the committee as “totally handmade – 24k gold plated, Swarovski crystals”.

Thomas told Guyana Chronicle that “the majesty crown” is worth thousands of US dollars and the queen is the owner of the 2016 crown for life as a new one will be designed for the 2017 contest.

She said the committee has confidence in all of the delegates selected, and expects a tough contest.
“I think it’s a very stiff competition this year if nothing else, all the girls are beautiful, all are intelligent,” Thomas told Guyana Chronicle.
