Former Information Liaison to the then Office of the President, Kwame McCoy is presently locked down at a police facility for questioning into the murder of former anti-PPP protestor, Courtney Crum -Ewing.

Police sources have confirmed to the Guyana Chronicle that McCoy turned himself into the police after they visited his Diamond, East Bank Demerara home to arrest him.

However, at the time of the visit, he was not at home. The Guyana Chronicle was reliably informed that the former press officer to former Presidents Bharrat Jagdeo and Donald Ramotar, was told of the police visit when he decided to turn himself in.

McCoy’s detention comes days after his former personal aid and PPP Member, Jason Abdulla was arrested by the police in connection with investigations into Crum-Ewing’s murder.

Also in police custody is self-confessed death squad member Sean Hinds, who was arrested on Tuesday. Crum-Ewing was shot dead on the evening of March 10, 2015 at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, where he was urging residents to vote against the PPP/C at the May 11th elections.

He was shot five times, including three times to the head. For weeks prior to his death, he had held one man protest outside the office of the then Attorney General Anil Nandlall, calling for his resignation over controversial statements he made during a telephone conversation with a Kaieteur News reporter that was made public.
