A young Police Officer was crushed to death by a private Lorry on Wednesday night on the Whim Public Road.

Dead is 26 – year – old Constable Ray Simon of Helena Village, Mahaica. According to reports reaching the Guyana Chronicle, Simon took a ride with the same lorry and met his demise after he exited the vehicle.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that Constable Simon fell down as he exited, resulting in the Lorry driving over him. He died on the spot. The young man was stationed at the Whim Police Station and boarded the Lorry from Liverpool Village and was heading to Rose Hal Town.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Lorry revealed that the vehicle was still moving when the Constable jumped off. Investigations are ongoing.
