“It is time to rebuild Guyana after it was broken for twenty three years,” Harmon said. The minister added that “the Government of Guyana sees bridges as uniting people and uniting communities, when a bridge is broken the community is broken. We build bridges, we reunite communities”.

According to the release, Minister Harmon praised the name given to the bridge by the residents.

Meanwhile, Ministers Lawrence and Ferguson urged the residents to use the bridge with care, pride and dignity. The Ministers called on them to provide security for the bridge and to resist the path of destruction.
