4 years for coke in liqueur

ROBIN Llewellyn Wills was yesterday found guilty and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by Providence Magistrate Leron Daley on a drug trafficking charge. The Police say he had 3.32 kilograms of cocaine on November 17, 2013 at Republic Park for the purpose of trafficking.
Initially, when the charge was read at the Georgetown Magistrate Court on January 31, 2014 he had pleaded not guilty.
The facts which were related in court stated that on the day in question Wills gave one Sonia LaRose two bottles of crème liqueur at Republic Park to take to the United States of America with her.
He escorted the lady and her sister to the airport, but at that port the woman became suspicious and left the bottles with the airport security who then made contact with the Customs Anti-Narcotics unit (CANU).
After investigations were carried out by CANU, a test was conducted and the substance was tested positive for cocaine.
The woman was arrested and based on her explanation, it led to the arrest of Wills who was subsequently charged.
A total of four witnesses testified on the prosecution’s behalf which was led by CANU prosecutor corporal Bharrat Mangru. Wills was represented by attorney Adrian Thompson.
After analyzing the testimonies from the witnesses and the accused who gave a sworn testimony, a prima facie case was established by the court and Wills was sentenced to four years behind bars.
