SCOTIABANK has renewed its sponsorship of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC).Scotiabank and the RHTYSC established the highly successful relationship in 2009, and the sponsorship package for 2016 is worth $365 000.
RHTYSC executive Mark Papannah stated that the RHTYSC, apart from being one of the top cricket clubs in Guyana, strongly believes in making a positive difference in the lives of youths, the elderly and less fortunate.
The sponsorship covers support for the club’s annual youth review magazine, Tribute to Teachers, Inter-School Essay Competition and Annual Awards Ceremony.
Papannah, highlighted that the RHTYSC last year completed a record of 302 programmes/activities for its Silver Jubilee anniversary year and has committed itself to completing 300 programmes for 2016 under the sub-heading of sports, education, charity, awards/honours, religious, jobs among others.
The Bank over the last six years has become a major sponsor of the RHTYSC, and Papannah hailed the Bank for its support.
Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster disclosed that special emphasis would be placed on the promotion of sports and education in 2016 along with making sure that deserving Berbicians are honoured for their contribution to the development of the Ancient County and Guyana.
The Tribute to Teachers programme would involve ten teachers in the Lower Corentyne area, while the essay competition would be open to all schools across Berbice, with the topic being related to Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
Scotiabank Marketing executive Jennifer Cipriani stated that the bank was proud to be associated with the RHTYSC, an organisation which has a remarkable history of achievements.
The bank strongly believes in investing in youths, education and sports as part of its corporate responsibilities, and hailed the RHTYSC as a role model organisation.
She congratulated the club on its Medal of Service award and urged its executives to redouble their commitment to always strive in pursuit of excellence.
