APPEARING before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday was Leonard Fredrick of Heaven’s Hill, Matthews Ridge on a murder charge.The 23-year-old man was not required to plead to the indictable offence, which alleged that on December 30, 2015 at Hell Hill, Mathews Ridge, he murdered Peter James.
According to the prosecution’s facts the stabbing stemmed from an altercation the men had over two months ago. On December 30, Fredrick saw James drinking in Hell Hill village, approached him with a knife and stabbed him several times about his body. The police says, he then ran away.
He was recently apprehended by the police and is said to have admitted to the offence under caution.
Fredrick was remanded to prison until January 7 and is slated to appear before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
