TWENTY-eight-year-old Sunil Dass, a porter of Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara, appeared yesterday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on a fraud charge.Dass pleaded not guilty to the charge that he fraudulently obtained the sum of $500,000 from Deomattie Ragnauth between December 3 – 7 by indicating to her that he was in a position to obtain a 10-year United States of America visa, knowing same to be false.
Police prosecutor Deniro Jones made no objection to bail. The porter was ordered to return to court on January 28.
