The business magnate has been involved in giving at every opportunity he sees fit, feeding scores of persons over the decades. Yesterday, children and the elderly were served by Gafoor, his wife Ameena, special invitees and his employees.
The gates of the mega complex had to be closed as pockets of persons were allowed in since the many tables were packed with children and the elderly.
The crowd was entertained by steelpan music and a merry Santa Claus.
Administrative Manager Dionne Foo said persons from the Palms, Dharm Shala, the Nazareth Home, children from the African Cultural and Development Association (ACDA) and various orphanages and homes were entertained.
Foo noted that the company would host several major feeding programmes annually and engage in other charitable drives.
Not one to blow his own trumpet, Gafoor donates to all charities and has been a leader in fulfilling his corporate responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the complex opened a new section for business on its ground floor yesterday.
